Port Coquitlam Car Show and Cruise for 2020 cancelled

The Port Coquitlam Event Society is sorry to announce that both the Port Coquitlam Car Show and Cruise for 2020 have been cancelled. The waiting game to see if the pandemic restrictions might ease up has been lost. It reached a stage where we would not have enough time to prepare for the event, even IF the Provincial Health Officer’s ‘physical distancing’ constraints were eased.

We can assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. Our overriding concern is always the health and wellbeing of our entrants, the public and of course, our amazing community partners. As you know, the Car Show and Cruise are very popular events and are extremely well attended – but that in itself gives us a problem. Whilst we as an organization can control the entrants, vendors and partners, we cannot control the actions of our many, many spectators. In all good conscience, we could not hold an event that would cause thousands of people to gather in close proximity. It is THEIR health and well being that we have uppermost in our hearts and minds.

As for the Car Show Committee, we are now taking a well earned break and know we’ll be back bigger and better in 2021!

Please stay safe and we’ll be in touch in early 2021!

Sincerely,
Port Coquitlam Car Show Committee
